The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, responded to the reactions to his press conference, disseminated by Bukele yesterday through social networks by challenging him to demonstrate with evidence that Venezuelans detained in the CECOT to whom Saab defined as a “external field concentration and torture of El Salvador” were not victims of cruel vexations and trays. “He denies that she is not the genocidal of Central America.”

Tarek William Saab explained that through interviews, medical-legal recognitions and psychiatric expertise, the evidence that corroborates the testimonies of the repatriated, who narrated that the custodes of the CECOT was drugged in front of them have been collected while subjecting them to all kinds of abuses, even sexual.
“You Mr. Bukele is the architect of that field of concentration, extermination and torture that is the CECOT in El Salvador, which emulates the torture centers of the worst dictatorships, and the custodians are their minions in this company to violate the dignity not only of the deportened Venezuelans, but also of about 85 thousand Salvadorans detained without judicial order and deprived of their most elementary rights.” reiterated.
In this regard, he explained that investigations advance rapidly to establish the crimes committed and their authors, in order to share the findings with the International Criminal Court and international human rights organizations where Bukele must be tried.
Prosecutor Saab announces investigation against Bukele and 2 of his officials
The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, announced Monday the opening of a Research against the first president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele And two of his senior officials, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Héctor Gustavo Villatoro and Osiris Luna Meza, director of Criminal Centers and Vice Minister of Justice.
Saab explained that they will be investigated for incurring the crimes of torture, cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment, forced disappearance, among others.
The information was provided in the framework of the press conference granted at noon from the headquarters of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, in order to publicize the series of testimonies of several repatriated nationals that were in the CECOT, who reported the series of atrocities and torture that suffered in the place.
Saab called on the International Criminal Court, the UN Human Rights Council and the competent international organizations to “do the same, what we are doing as a public ministry against these 3 subjects and those that may appear.”
«They are involved in these crimes that we are investigating and appear as responsible, according to the preliminary investigation we have. The aggressions were permanent, systematic and daily. There was no day when they did not commit the crimes for which we are investigating them, torture, cruel treatment, inhuman or degrading treatment, forced disappearance, illegitimate deprivation of liberty and association to commit crimes, ”he said.
He explained that the Convention against torture, the International Convention for the Protection of people, and the Rome Statute gives the legal statute and the quality to open the investigation.
