Movement at Brazilian airports grows 10% by 2025

THE movement at airports grew 10% compared to the same period of the last year.

From January to June this year, there were 13.8 million tourists on international flights, up 15.3%. On national flights, the growth was 8.6%, with movement over 40 million people.

“We are living the best period of our civil aviation and the numbers prove this. If we keep this pace in the second half of this year, we will close 2025 with the best result in history. This means a significant gain not only for our sector, but for everyone. When aviation goes well, as well as the hoteling part and, especially, our economy,” said the minister of ports and airports.

Demand

According to a survey of the Ministry, based on the demand and offer report of the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), among the 10 largest airports in the country with the highest movement, the best performance was observed at Galeão International Airport in Rio de Janeiro, from 6.5 million passengers to 8.2 million travelers by 2025, growth of over 26%.

With 6.2 million passengers transported, the Confins International Airport, in Belo Horizonte, was also featured in the semester, high of almost 15%. The largest terminal in the country, Guarulhos, in São Paulo, grew 8% in the first six months of the year, with almost 22 million travelers.

Although it lost a position in the busiest ranking, Brasilia Airport has a 7.6% period, with a movement of over 7.5 million people, the best result since 2019.

According to the National Secretary of Civil Aviation, Tomé Franca, the perspective is positive for the coming months in the face of public investments in airport infrastructure and institutional support to airlines.
