Baní– The morning of This Tuesday was dyed in blood in the Los Cajuilitos neighborhood, where two men faced shots in full public roadin a duel whose reasons are still a mystery to the authorities.
The victims, identified as Randy Emilio Abalo, 29, and Ernesto del Villar, 32, fell down on Félix María del Monte street, the scene of the violent meeting that shuddered the residents of the sector.

According to witnesses, the area was shaken by a burst of shots that broke the still morning. When the smoke dissipated, both bodies lay lifeless on the pavement.
The place was attended by the Legista Denia Guerrero and the prosecutor Gaudy Castillo, who certified the deaths and ordered the lifting of the bodies, which were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) in Azua.

While the authorities investigate what the deadly confrontation unleashed, the duel adds to an escalation of violence that shakes Baní. Only in the last week, more than a dozen people have lost their lives in bloody events, including homicides, femicides, suicides and the recent death of Bernard Cabrera at the hands of the police.
