Since last Friday (18), Bolsonaro wears electronic anklet and has restrictions determined by the court.

“The President of the Chamber of Deputies, in the use of his regimental attributions, resolves: from July 22 to August 20, 2025, the holding of Committee meetings of the House of Representatives is prohibited,” says the document signed by Hugo Motta. The commission room was already full of opposition deputies and supporters of Jair Bolsonaro when Motta’s decision was known.

In addition to the Public Security Commission, another Foreign Commission, also led by the former president’s PL, had a meeting scheduled to show support to the former president.

Unable to hold the meeting, PL deputies made a press releaseattacking the Brazilian judiciary for investigations against Jair Bolsonaro and defending the former president.

Bolsonaro is under the imposition of precautionary measures imposed by the Supreme Court Minister (STF) Alexandre de Moraes. These include the use of an electronic anklet and the ban on using social networks directly or through third parties.

Moraes understood that Jair Bolsonaro and his son, Eduardo, who is in the United States, make a “blatant confession” of the commission of crimes such as coercion in the course of the process, obstruction of justice and attempt to abolish the Democratic Rule of Law.

Precautionary measures were determined in the inquiry in which the former president’s son, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), is investigated for his performance with the government of US President Donald Trump to promote retaliation measures against the Brazilian government and ministers of the Supreme and try to bar the progress of criminal action on the coup plot.

In the decision, Moraes warned that Bolsonaro can be arrested when breaking the precautions.
