The man was sent to prison in a preventive way, after the Prosecutor’s Office charged him. However, he did not accept them.

The Attorney General’s Office announced the capture and shipping to Prison of Cristian Camilo G., who would be one of the alleged perpetrators of the attack on Miguel Uribe Turbay, presidential candidate and current senator, which occurred on June 7 in the Modelia sector, to the west of Bogotá.
The authorities established that the role of the involved would be directly related to the escape plan of the material author of the attack. According to the investigating entity, the man arrived at the scene in a vehicle to facilitate the escape of those who would have shot at the senator.
“Its purpose was to go to the scene using a motorized medium, so that, once the attack was committed, the flight of the person who would have been hired to commit the action against Senator Uribe was guaranteed,” said the Prosecutor’s Office. It should be remembered that, on the day of the fact, the minor who would have operated the weapon against the senator was apprehended by the police, who frustrated his escape.
He was imputed attempts at homicide and illegal weapons
During the preliminary hearings, the Prosecutor’s Office charged Cristian Camilo G. The crimes of aggravated homicide in a tentative and manufacturing, traffic or bearing of firearms and ammunition, within the framework of the judicial process by the attack against the congressman.
Despite the evidence provided by the investigating entity, the defendant decided not to accept the positions before the guarantee control judge.
The suspect voluntarily appeared before the authorities. In a search and registration diligence, advanced in a house in Bogotá, researchers from the Technical Research Corps (CTI), agents seized key probative material that would link it to the facts.
With this new capture, there are already six alleged involved prosecuted for their participation in the attack against Miguel Uribe. Among them is Elder José Arteaga, aka ‘El Costeño’, indicated as the main coordinator of the criminal action.
The young offender who allegedly shot at the senator was identified. The minor is waiting for the accusation formulation hearing, within the legal process that advances by this political attack that has generated great media and judicial attention.
