This Friday from the 13th hour at the Teacher Training Institute, the face -to -instance of a training prevention that is promoting the Departmental Suicide Prevention Group will be carried out.

In a press conference that took place at the headquarters of the Health Directorate of Cerro Largo, it was made clear that this activity is aimed at community referents and not to health personnel.

“We want to invite for a day that will be held on Friday, April 25 at the Teacher Training Institute on Suicide Prevention for Community Referents” The Licensed Liliana Denis.

“It is a day that will be carried out by a psychologist- Martina Buchall- that from the Ministry of Public Health. The early approach to these situations is sought, detect and see the signs of alerts that many times manifest people who are in these situations. The idea is that they know where to resort in the first instance and many times that message that we have to give before what the people are telling us are involved in these situations. Doing it and others, the message we give instead of discouraging this behavior, is the other way around, stimulates the person to feel more alone and not know where to resort to ” The Departmental Director of Health of Cerro Largo argued.

Only for community referents

“This instance is not for health personnel but for community referents” He pointed out. “It is oriented to service assistants, the high schools and schools, for the hairdresser of the neighborhood, for the cook of a youth center, for the police and people who in the community can be faced with these situations that unfortunately take lives. In our department it is a very important problem” assured.

Those interested in registering must possess a user. “They can come to the departmental address because here we can help you generate that user” Denis argued. “From having that user they will answer by mail to an email box and there they can register” explained.

“This course will have two parts” advancement. “One will be face -to -face, which will take place tomorrow from the 13th hour in the IFD and another part that will be per platform. That is why it is necessary to have this user” pointed out.

Certificate will be delivered to participants

“From the realization of the face -to -face part and the part by web, a certificate will be delivered to the people who carry out this training” said.

“It is a totally free course, which is why we are very interested in participating. That is why we invite the people of the community to be part of it” The director of Health said.

“In the previous training we promoted, we focused on police and also in community institutions. We managed to cover the quota that was requested. At this time we are in 50%. That is why we are invited to those who are interested. Health personnel not because it is not the focus or objective of this workshop. It is important that community referents participate” insisted.

The Liliana Denis graduate was accompanied by the Coordinator of the UCDIE of Cerro Largo, Professor Verónica García, by a member of the Coordinator of Psychologists, María Gracia Mugay, and the mayor of the Departmental Board of Cerro Largo, Ignacio Rodríguez.
