Ecuador’s electoral material is in the hands of the DHL company and will be sent to Quito to verify if there were alterations or manipulations of its content
The Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, described as false the complaint of the Ecuadorian government of an alleged theft of electoral material for the vote of Ecuadorians residing in the country for alleged officials of the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service (Sebin).
For Venezuela, the statement issued by Ecuador is “sad and laughible.” Gil considered that these complaints arise after the complaints of an alleged theft of the elections “to divert attention.”
According to the Ecuadorian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sebin officials committed a criminal act with the electoral material not used in Caracas by the Interests Section of Ecuador at the Swiss Embassy.

They added that the men intercepted a transport of a parcel company in Caracas and “proceeded to subtract the seven packages with the electoral material.”
DHL explained that after this incident occurred, the company received a call indicating the packages of a specific address. At this time, the packages are in DHL custody.
The electoral material will be transferred to the National Electoral Council (CNE) in Quito so that its officials verify if there were alterations or manipulations of its content.
For the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, the “electoral failure, its moral defeat, cannot be covered with these diplomatic hoaxes.”
Yván Gil also pointed out that Ecuador’s statement is “gross, so badly armed, that it seems written by a frustrated screenwriter.”
Some 10,000 Ecuadorians living in the country could not exercise their right to vote after the delay of the Venezuelan authorities to prove the officials of that country.
Nicolás Maduro condemned the results of the presidential elections in Ecuador and described them as a “horrific fraud.”
*Journalism in Venezuela is exercised in a hostile environment for the press with dozens of legal instruments arranged for the punishment of the word, especially the laws “against hatred”, “against fascism” and “against blockade.” This content was written taking into consideration the threats and limits that, consequently, have been imposed on the dissemination of information from within the country.
