This morning, the Judicial Power of Peru He gave an emotional posthumous tribute to the writer and Nobel Prize for Literature, Mario Vargas Llosaduring the traditional raising ceremony of the National Pavilion and the Flag of the Judiciary, held at the front of the Palace of Justice, in Lima.
Both national symbols were elevated to half -mast as a sample of national duel, decreed by the government after the death of the distinguished Peruvian literate. During the act, a minute of silence was also kept in respect and recognition of its cultural and intellectual legacy.
The ceremony was chaired by the head of the Judiciary, Janet Tello Gilardi, and was attended by Supreme Judges, officials, jurisdictional and administrative personnel of the Supreme Court of Justice. Likewise, school delegations from the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe, Republic of Haiti and José del Carmen Marín Arista schools participated.
Tello Gilardi stressed that this Monday’s raising had a special character. “Today is a day of much sadness, to remember the immortal Mario Vargas Llosa, a universal Peruvian writer. Therefore, the National Pavilion and the Flag of the Judiciary have been raised at half -asta,” he said solemnly.
The president of the Judiciary also stressed the importance of this type of acts as part of the ethical and civic training, not only of justice staff, but also of the students of the country.
“It is the policy of our management instilling love for national symbols and ethical values, starting with those who administer justice, but also covering the new generations,” he said.
As part of the day, the guest students took a guided tour of the facilities of the Palace of Justice. The visit was in charge of the President of the National Superior Court of Specialized Criminal Justice, Hans Contreras Cuzcano, who explained the history and functions of this institution.
