The committee for the protection of journalists urges the Venezuelan authorities to release “immediately” the journalist Nakary Mena Ramos and her husband, Gianni González, who were arrested for “hate crime” for “dissemination of false information.”
“All charges against them must be withdrawn and the authorities must ensure that people in Venezuela can exercise their work freely and without fear of reprisals,” the organization wrote through their Account in X.
The journalist Nakary Mena Ramos was arrested on April 8 and remained in forced disappearance for at least two days and the State Court 1 of state control ordered on Thursday, April 10, deprive of liberty journalist Nakary Mena Ramos and her husband, Gianni González, after being accused by the Public Ministry of the alleged crimes of instigation to hate and publication of false news.
Mena Ramos was sent to the National Institute of Women’s Orientation (INOF), located in Los Teques, and her husband to Rodeo, in the Miranda state.

And insisted that Mena Ramos and González be given full freedom.
