Peru and Panama will strengthen the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries, in order to boost commercial exchange and reciprocal investments, said President Dina Boluarte.
This within the framework of the official visit that its Panamanian counterpart, José Raúl Mulino, whom he received in the Government Palace and with whom he agreed a joint statement to strengthen the bilateral relationship.
“We are working to facilitate the export of hydrobiological, meat and agricultural products, such as tubers. We have also agreed to carry out the first meeting of the FTA Free Commission of the FTA, in order to further boost our exchanges and reciprocal investments,” said the head of the State.
The president remarked that the meeting with the Panamanian president constitutes a transcendental step in the strengthening of the historical and close bilateral relations, a friendship forged on the basis of common principles, mutual respect and a shared vision on important global and regional issues
“Today we have also opened new spaces of understanding and cooperation, with the firm purpose of projecting this brotherhood that lasts over time and transcends governments,” added President Boluarte.
In that sense, Boluarte reported that it was agreed to declare on December 18 of Peruvian-Panameña Friendship, date on which both countries established diplomatic relations, in 1903.
