Red Cross provides health assistance to five asylees at the Embassy of Argentina

The president of the Venezuelan Red Cross, Luis Farías, reported on Saturday, April 12 that they provided health assistance to the five opponents who are not cared for in the Argentine Embassy in Caracas after “the acceptance of the parties involved.”

Through a statement published in his Instagram account, Farías said that the assistance was made after the request of these citizens.

“Based on our fundamental principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, volunteering, unity and universality, and with the acceptance of the parties involved, we report that today, Saturday April 12, 2025, we have provided health assistance to citizens who are in the residence of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Caracas”, details the release.

The Red Cross offered no more information about the state of health of these five people and expressed their “disposition to attend to those who need it, without discrimination of any kind.”

On March 20, Magalli Meda, Omar González, Pedro Urruchurtu, Claudia Macero and Humberto Villalobos completed a year ashored at the Argentine Embassy, ​​after the Public Ministry announced arrest warrants against him. Everyone worked with the opposition leader, María Corina Machado.

After Argentina and Venezuela broke diplomatic relations, after the presidential elections of July 28, the headquarters of the diplomacy is under Brazil’s protection.

However, Venezuela revoked Brazil last September, after denouncing the alleged planning of terrorist acts inside the headquarters.

These five opponents have denounced violation of their fundamental rights, power cuts, restrictions on food income and harassment by police officers. They have affirmed that they eat canned foods and use a ventilate with a solar panel as a source of energy.
