In the context of the Fourth Diplomatic Forum of Antalya, in Türkiye, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Yván Gil Pinto, held an encounter with his counterpart from the Russian Federation, Serguéi Lavrov.
During the meeting, the parties reaffirmed the “solid strategic alliances, especially in the defense against unilateral sanctions and in the promotion of a new multipolar order,” said the chancellor in his Telegram channel.
Caracas and Moscow began a new stage of bilateral relations with the first meeting, in 2000, among the presidents Vladimir Putin and Hugo Chávez, in New York.
The Chancellor of Venezuela actively participated in the Fourth Forum of Antalya, held in Türkiye from April 11 to 13, 2025. This international event brought together more than 20 heads of state and government, 50 ministers of foreign relations and representatives of international organizations, with the aim of promoting dialogue and cooperation in a fragmented world.
During his speech, the Foreign Minister highlighted the fundamental role of Bolivarian peace diplomacy as a tool to strengthen international union and solidarity. In addition, he was part of the panel entitled “Critical raw materials in the era of competition”, where key issues related to global cooperation and sustainable development were discussed.
Strategic bilateral meetings
In the context of the forum, Yván Gil held bilateral meetings with representatives from allied countries such as Serbia, Uganda, Iraq and Azerbaijan. These meetings focused on the consolidation of strategic relations and the exploration of new areas of cooperation. For example, with Russia alliances in defense against unilateral sanctions and in the promotion of a multipolar order were reaffirmed.
Likewise, the Chancellor celebrated the 55th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations with Uganda and the 143 ° Anniversary with Serbia, highlighting the importance of collaboration in economic, political and cultural areas.

The Antalya diplomatic forum, organized under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has established itself as a key space to address global challenges and promote multilateral cooperation.
