Nicolás Maduro formalized this Friday, April 11 a complete restructuring to the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV). In Extraordinary Official Gazette No. 6,898, the engineer Laura Carolina Guerra Angulo was designated as the new president of the issuing entity, replacing José Calixto Ortega Sánchez, at the head of the BCV since 2018.
In addition, they were appointed as directors of the issuing entity Luis Alberto Pérez González, Christian Martell Ramírez, Carlos Cestari Infantini, Christiam Hernández Verdecanna and Santiago Lazo Ortega. The Minister of Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade, Anabel Pereira, was appointed as director of the National Executive.

The new BCV directory
Laura Guerra Angulo is an oil engineer, with a Master in heavy raw. She is also the sister of Adriana Guerra Angulo, former wife of Nicolás Maduro. He directed the Social Protection Fund for Bank Deposits (FOGADE) and the National Development Fund (Fonden).
In 2015 he assumed the management of the Petroleum Office of Venezuela (PDVSA) in Bogotá, Colombia. He worked at the state oil company since December 2006.
Minister Anabel Pereira Fernández is a lawyer. In August 2022 she was assigned as president of Fogade. She was also the director of the Superintendence of the Banking Sector (Sudeban) in 2023 and president of the Restructuring Board of the National Superintendence of Cryptoactives and Related Activities (SUNACRIP), the agency subsequently eliminated.
Luis Alberto Pérez González is Vice Minister in charge of monitoring and control of ecomine development since 2024. He is also president, as a person in charge, of the company Carbones del Zulia SA, (Carbozulia).
Carlos Alessando Cestari Infantini is general of the National Armed Forces and served as head of the Operational Strategic Command (CEOFAN) in 2018.
Christiam Hernández Verdecanna exercised as Vice President of Finance and main member of the Board of Directors of Petroleum of Venezuela since September 2024. He was a national treasurer in charge in 2022 and was also Vice Minister for the National Banking System and Investment for Development.
Santiago Armando Lazo Ortega is part of the BCV board since 2018. He is an alternate director of the Economic and Social Development Bank of Venezuela (Bandes) in 2013.
