Federal Deputy Pedro Lucas Fernandes (União Brasil-MA) will be the new Minister of Communications, in the place of Juscelino Filho, who left office. 
The announcement was made by the minister of the presidency’s Institutional Relations Secretariat, Gleisi Hoffmann, after the meeting between Lula and Pedro Lucas, which took place late on Thursday (10), at the Alvorada Palace, official residence.
Senate President David Alcolumbre (Brazil-AP Union), besides Juscelino Filho himself, participated in the conversation. Pedro Lucas is the current leader of the Union Brazil bench in the House of Representativesand it was the party’s nomination for the folder.
“União Brasil presented the name of Pedro Lucas to replace Minister Juscelino in communications. The president accepted and also invited the leader to assume [o cargo]”Gleisi told journalists at Alvorada.
