Mexican economy fell into the fourth quarter of 2024

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) declined 0.6% compared to the July-September period, according to unionized figures released Friday by the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), without changes to what the institution had predicted at the end of the late January.

Inegi said that primary activities – which include agriculture, fishing and livestock – decreased 8.5%, while secondary ones – which encompass manufactures – dropped 1.5%.

Meanwhile, tertiary activities -What covers the services- they advanced 0.2%.

Throughout last year, the Mexican economy grew 1.2% with deestalized data, a slightly lower fact than the 1.3% calculation offered by INEGI initially.

At an annual rate, GDP advanced 0.5% during the fourth quarter in original figures, slightly below 0.6% estimated previously.

In original figures, the economy grew 1.5% throughout last year.
