It is the first time that this National Cuesta Cuesta (CCN) initiative focuses on a Specific destination highlighting the impact of the Duarte peak throughout the country and its relevance in adventure tourism, since in previous editions it was focused on provinces.
“He Duarte peaklow Pride of my landconstitutes an important legacy for all Dominicans, since the content that accompanies it remains a permanent delivery for future generations, becoming a reference to deepen the knowledge of this destination where the practice of the ecotourism and the adventure tourism in our country. “said José Miguel González Cuadra, executive president of CCN.
He said he Duarte peak It is a unique geographical point, a place that marks those who visit it and that protects an invaluable natural treasure.

González Cuadra added that, in addition to the flora and fauna that the peak protects on its paths, there is an element that strengthens its relevance due to its great impact and is the fact that in its guts the born the main aquifer tributaries in the country and that feed different flows and rivers that flow into various regions of the national territory. “

During the launch, a Photography book, of 320 pages, of the authorship of the Dominican Frank Báez, accompanied by 172 photographs by Mario Dávalos and José Rozón, in addition to illustrations by the artist Nathalie Ramírez and informative reviews prepared by biology expert Yohan Núñez.
Likewise, a projection of the feature film was carried out ” Duarte peak“, Produced by Monteseranra Films, under the direction of Mariana Rubio and Arturo Dickson. The project also includes Three guides developed by the journalist Jessica Leonor with the necessary information to organize an unforgettable excursion to the peak.
Besides, Pride of my land It has a children’s book entitled “The highest mountain”, by the Dominican Children An author Any podcast which will have 10 episodes.
It also includes a variety of more than 30 pieces of specialized and limited merchandise dedicated to Duarte peak. This includes a textile collection, eight models of reusable bags, notebooks, puzzles, thermos and other items that allude to this great destination, and that will be available in CCN stores.

Additionally, CCN is backed by the initiative of “here with heart”, with which they help the development of small and medium agricultural producers, accompanying them with advice that allows them to exceed obstacles and be able to sell their products in the CCN stores.

Recognition
During the event six community leaders were recognized for their work and acting.
The recognized community are Zeneida Pérez de Méndez and Luz María Polanco, from the community of Mata Grande; Germán Adames and Ramón Hipólito Colón (alias Món), of the Ciénaga de Manabao; as well as Rosaura Calderón and Don Romelio Pinales (Alias Blanco), from the community of Sabaneta, San Juan de la Maguana.
This edition of Pride of my land It is part of the CCN 90th anniversary celebration. The ceremony was held in the main hall of the Eduardo Brito National Theater.

Pride of my land was born more than 10 years ago as an invitation from CCN to rediscover the country, and to connect with its cultural wealth. With its motto, “you only love what is known”, the project has the purpose of highlighting and promoting all the resources offered by the Dominican Republic, but above all to fly its main treasure: its people.
This project reaffirms the commitment of CCN to contribute, foster and reinforce the spirit of Dominicanity, promoting a sense of belonging based on all the natural, gastronomic, cultural, environmental and human wealth of the country. The five project deliveries have led Centro Nacional to discover: Samaná, Barahona, Pedernales, La Vega, Puerto Plata and María Trinidad Sánchez, but in a different way.
