Under the magnifying glass of the Prosecutor’s Office and after a research work they dismant

The Attorney General’s Office managed to dismantle a network of trafficking in persons who was deceiving young artists, promising work in Turkey. However, these jobs were never fulfilled, since the true intention was to exploit them.

Thanks to the testimonies of 18 victims and the evidence collected, three alleged members of the organization were captured and presented before a guarantee control judge.
This is Wilmer Carabalí, Andrés Felipe Corrales Robledo and Yesssica Lorena Morales Pinilla, who face concert charges to commit crimes and trafficking in aggravated persons.
The investigations revealed that Morales Pinilla contacted the victims in dance academies of Ibagué (Tolima), offering salaries of up to 600 euros per month in Türkiye.

Locked and without food
Carabalí and Corrales Robledo took care of the procedures in Cali to facilitate their transfer. Once in Türkiye, young people were received by network members and housed in precarious conditions, without drinking water or sufficient food.
In addition, they were forced to meet extensive days as dancers without receiving any payment.

False promises: artists presented complications
The Cali dancers guild have managed to visit this country with work proposals for 6 months, but they have succeeded with certified agencies.
For this specific case, some of those affected presented health complications without receiving the necessary medical care.
For these facts, the judge ordered an insurance measure in prison center for the two men, while Morales Pinilla will continue to be linked to the investigation.
The authorities reiterate the call to young artists to be attentive to job offers abroad and to report any irregularity.
