President of Mexico considers "fair cause" Pedro Castillo's defense

The president of Mexico, Claudia SheinbaumHe received on Thursday at the National Palace Guido Guido Croxatto, council defender Pedro Castillo.

Sheinbaum – who refuses to consider drug traffickers as terrorists operating in his country – highlighted in his publication that “justice, democracy and respect for human rights must prevail.”

Lilia Paredes, Castillo’s wife, is noticeable in Mexico, where according to the opposition he receives a monthly pension of 10,000 dollars, as well as housing and other benefits.

For the deputy of the Mexican opposition Mariana Gómez del Campo, the preferential treatment of Lilia Paredes would be “unjustified” and raises serious ethical and political concerns, in what considers an improper use of resources and a lack of government transparency.

The Judiciary has scheduled for next Tuesday, March 4, at 9:00 am, the beginning of the oral trial against former president Pedro Castillo Terrones, who was accused as co -author of the crime of rebellion and author of the crimes of abuse of authority and serious disturbance of public tranquility.

Castillo will not be the only prosecuted. The Resolution of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic establishes that former Prime Minister Betssy Chávez, former Interior Minister Willy Huerta, former Foreign Trade Minister Roberto Sánchez, the former head of the Cabinet Aníbal Torres, among others, will also be tried.
