Nicolás Maduro asked the National Commission to include all sectors of the country in the debate for constitutional reform. I reiterate that with the modification proposal “to improve and modernize to the maximum” some articles of the Magna Carta
The call made this Wednesday, February 19. During a speech transmitted by VTV, he stressed that the reform also plans to guarantee “unity and tranquility” at all levels.
“We have to rectify the structure of the Constitution that changed the history of Venezuela. We have to expand all its norms, all its mandates and this commission has to handle, lead in a creative way, a great debate that must include the Venezuelan nation, ”he said.

The Council is made up of Attorney General Tarek William Saab, the vice president of Cy Rodríguez, Deputy Hermann Escarrá and the First Lady, Cilia Flores.
On February 15, Maduro presented to the National Assembly (AN) of 2020 his proposal for reform. Gave 90 days for the special commission to present the final project.
“We are ready to open the gates of a large and unifying national debate, and that it is the Venezuelan society and our people protagonist of a great historical reform that adapts the 1999 Constitution to the new times, with new ideas for the progress in a new Transition time to the new modernity, ”he said
He explained that the project has almost 80 articles and considered that it is the “moment” to make an update of the current Constitution to connect with “a Venezuela that has the right to comment, express itself and exercise its sovereignty in a transferable way for social, political life and cultural of the country ”.
