The House of Representatives approved on Wednesday (19) the bill that includes in the Penal Code the crime of manipulating, producing or disclosing content of nudity or false sexual act generated by artificial intelligence technology and other technological means. The text will be sent to the Senate.

According to Bill 3821/24, the crime can be punished with imprisonment of two to six years and a fine, if the fact does not constitute a more serious crime. The penalty will be higher if the victim is woman, child, adolescent, elderly or disabled.
When there is mass dissemination through social networks or digital platforms, the penalty will be increased from 1/3 to double.
The project also includes in the Electoral Code the crime of using images manipulated in election campaigns, involving candidates or candidates. There will be the same increase in penalty when the offended woman, a woman with disabilities or the elderly.
When the conduct is practiced by a candidate, in addition to the expected penalties, the candidacy registration or diploma will be imposed.
