In a similar line, the mayor of Cerro Largo, Fernando Gamarra, said that Melo’s carnival, “is very attractive, one of the best in the country and produces an important tourist movement.”
Gamarra added that this year adds to the week, the arrival of the Cycling Tour of Uruguay and the dispute of a meeting of the South American Cup by Cerro Largo Fútbol Club, which generates important reservations in hotel.
The mayor also recalled that Cerro Largo is not just carnival, cycling or football, for a week, because there are very attractive places to visit, several of them in Melo and others throughout the department such as Lago Merín, Aceguá, House of Juana or Chuy post.
