Advanced Technology Institute (BREIT) led Peruvian students to MIT

A group of 35 students of the Data Science Program Advanced Technology of the Breca Group (Breit), they traveled to Boston and shared knowledge with prominent professors from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

In her first interview, the brand new president of the SNMPE, Julia Torreblanca, affirms that it will be essential that the new MAPE law implement an adequate control of the authorities.

“The objective of this trip has been to connect to talented Peruvian professionals with teachers and students of the MIT, and learn about the most recent research of prominent teachers of the institution,” said Lucia Haro, Breit’s manager.

During their visit, the students toured the MIT campus and were received in a special ceremony by representatives of the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS) where certificates were delivered to those who completed the program.

The itinerary also included a lunch with PHD students in Social & Engineering Systems and the Master in Technology and Policy Program, a visit to the MIT Museum and the Boston Sciences Museum.

“The mission of MIT IDS and Breit align to continue developing the best data scientists in Peru, and this type of experience helps continue to enhance the program,” said Susana Kevorkova, MIT IDSS Program Manager.

During the second day, the students participated in a practical workshop in innovation and technological entrepreneurship with MIT Sandbox, and attended conferences on data and analytics of MIT teachers such as Michiel Bakker from Mit Sloan and Anette (Peko) Hosoi, teacher of mechanical engineering .

In addition, the students had the opportunity to meet in person the prominent professors of the Program in Statistics and Data Science Micromaters as John Tsitsiklis and Sarah Ellison.

“This visit not only allowed students to meet closely one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the world, but also reaffirmed Breit’s commitment to educational excellence and the development of highly trained professionals in data science,” said Ivo Saona Director General contributes.
