Sommx is an organization in which leaders of what was the “pink tide”; It seeks to become a political party in 2026 to be able to compete in the intermediate elections of 2027. His profile will be opposed to Morena, although, according to his members, he will not be “neither from the right or left, only of rights.”
In an interview, Jacobo says that it will not be a Platform Party of Lorenzo Córdova, with whom he worked more than a five years in the agency, since the former president of the INE does not even be part of the project.
“He is a great friend, a person who respects a lot personally, but he decided to continue in the academy and not add to this initiative. So I know that there are many people who can speculate around the subject, but there is no such: Lorenzo Córdova is not in this project, ”he emphasizes.
“The others are in our right to opt for the creation of a new political force or there will even be anyone who wants to join a party of the existing ones. I think it is the right of each one. And with the distance of practically two years that we left The institution, with greater reason we have the distance of the case, ”abounds.
In addition to him, they appear in the organization of former members of electoral agencies such as Leonardo Valdés Zurita, former counselor of the IFE General Council; Rodrigo Morales, former counselor of the IFE and the Electoral Institute of the Federal District (IEDF); and Carlos Ferrer Silva, former responsibility of the Technical Unit of the INE electoral contentious.
Academics also participate, former leaders of the parties of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), National Action (PAN) and Institutional Revolutionary (PRI), in addition to citizens without a party who came out to mobilize with the “pink tide” in defense of the INE and against of initiatives of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, such as the reform of the Judiciary.
What explains its convergence in this organization that seeks to be a party, is the defense of the rule of law and the common idea that the so -called fourth transformation is making the democratic system back in the country.
“We go to a concentration of power in the federal executive such as 50 years, 60 years ago, when we had advanced to build institutions that were those that governed the political and social life of the country and not the ruler in turn,” Jacobo sentenced, to who López Obrador led part of his attacks and called him “Porfirito” for working more than a decade in the IFE and the INE.

In a year, in February 2026, any organization that is interested in becoming a political party must have completed its organizational work to meet two fundamental requirements.
The first, to prove at least 256,030 dispersed affiliates throughout the country (0.26% of the electoral roll of the previous immediate election); The second, to prove national force with at least 200 district or 20 state assemblies.
The objective will be to overcome both requirements and without failures that mining the legitimacy of the new political organization, so they will use the electoral experience, says Edmundo Jacobo.
“We have a lot of experience around the subject and just by adding to this effort, what we want is to bring that ‘expertise’ so that things are done well from the beginning and credibility in political options does not mining, particularly in this. The researcher, with training in philosophy from the University of Guanajuato, but Sonoran, exposes the training strategy they will follow.
“We decided to go through the districts, which might seem a bit more complex, but we think it is better, because a party that aims to be national what it has to demonstrate is that it has strength throughout the country and not only in the capitals of the states, but have the basis and organization from the electoral districts themselves from birth. ”
In past processes of formation of national parties, the vast majority of organizations have remained on the way due to breach of requirements and amid irregularities, such as carrying, attempted delivery of gifts or corporate affiliation, in the assemblies.
In the case of affiliations via the digital application of the INE, the recruitment of ghost militants, deceased or alleged supporters without current political rights has been proven.
