The Ministry of Education (MEC) discloses, on Tuesday (18), the result and order of classification of registered in the selection process of the Student Financing Fund (FIES), referring to the first half of 2025.
The result of the pre-selection can be conferred soon in theSingle Portal of Higher Education Access with password of the gov.br platform
This year, MEC will offer, in all, more than 112,000 vacancies in non -free higher education courses, divided into two selection processes. Of this total, there are 67,301 vacancies in the first semester and 44,867, in the second semester.
The federal program finances the tuition fees of higher -income students in private universities, with the objective of democratizing access to education in the country.
FIES AND SOCIAL FIES
There are two modalities of this public policy. The first is the traditional FIES, which serves students with income of up to three minimum wages and can cover 50% to 100% of the course tuition.
FIES Social has as its target audience students with per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage and registered in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the Federal Government (CadÚnico) in assets.
Throughout the selection process, 50% of the vacancies are reserved for the social FIES. In this case, the federal government grants up to 100% financing of educational charges, charged by the higher education institution in the course, provided that it does not exceed the values defined by the FIES Management Committee.
The situation of the candidate enrolled in the CadÚnico was verified by MEC based on the data that was registered until January 11, 2025.
Timeline
Between February 19 and 21, pre-selected students must access FIES selection to complement the registration and obtain public financing of tuition in private colleges.
Registered students who are out of the regular call of the FIES selection process will automatically go to the unnamed waiting list. That is, the candidate will not need to express his interest in participating,
The call period through the waiting list will be from February 25 to April 9.
