The circuits where the megablocs of the street carnival of São Paulo will parade will have tents for the care and welcome of women who suffer sexual harassment during the parties.
According to the Military Police, 14 tents will be installed during the carnival, which will have police officers trained to support and welcome the female audience. The purpose of the action, said the PM, will be to create a welcoming environment to receive complaints and also fulfill support requests.
“The approach will be as sensitive as possible,” said Colonel Cássio Araújo de Freitas, Commander General of the Military Police. “It is a space dedicated to attend to this victim and proceed with the occurrence,” he explained.
One of these tents will be installed around Ibirapuera Park, where some of these megablocs should pass. But there will also be, according to the Military Police, tents concentrated in the central region and in the north and west of the state capital.
In addition to the tents, the PM will have 24 -hour service in the lilac cabin, through 190. The service, which is at the Military Police Operations Center, is operated by police officers trained to support and guide women who ask for help by 190 .
