Nicolás Maduro made changes to two ministries. He appointed Ricardo Molina as head of ecosocialism and Franklin Cardillo as Minister of Sports. Josué Lorca left his position as Minister of Environment and Arnaldo Sánchez in Deportes, but Maduro did not report whether they will have a new position in the ruling party.
Molina is a forestry engineer and was a member of the Permanent Commission of Ecosocialism of the National Assembly. Maduro asked him to defend the parks, rivers, lakes, ecosystems, to lead the battle against climate change and “summon youth to take care of the climate.”

For his part, Franklin Cardillo said that “there is a great challenge” and that he will work hand in hand with all the sports movement of the country and that one of its objectives is to “massify” sport in communities, schools and universities.
Cardillo promised comprehensive care for athletes, train coaches and improve Venezuela’s results in sporting events.
Cardillo served as a treasurer of the Olympic Committee of Venezuela (COV) among other sports management responsibilities such as the first vice presidency of the Venezuelan Cycling Federation.
In science and medicine areas, Maduro reported that in the country they are promoting research projects to deal with Alzheimer’s.
The Sectorial Vice President of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, explained that they are conducting a pilot study with patient saliva samples from 55 years of age.
At the same time, Nicolás Maduro said that the JM Hospital of Los Ríos “was rehabilitated throughout its structure” to guarantee quality care for patient children in this health center.
