Requirements to register a newborn
- The registration must be made within the first month of the baby and the following documents must be submitted:
- Blood group exam and RH factor (if the background document is different from the living birth certificate).
- Live born certificate.
- Authentic documents such as citizenship card or judicial sentences.
- Indigenous authorization (for members of indigenous communities).
- Ecclesiastical or baptism departure, with certification of the minister who celebrated the act.
- ICBF resolution (in case of minors in the process of restoring rights).
- Resolution of the National Civil Registry Directorate (for unknown children or parents).
- Acta or foreign civil registration apostilized, legalized and translated (if the birth occurred abroad).
- Formats issued by authorized midwives and midwives.
