Carolina Cosse sent a note to Senator Alejandro Sánchez, who headed the most voted list in the October elections, to notify him that he will assume the position of Vice President of the Republic.
In communication, Cosse recalled that, in addition to having been elected to preside over the General Assembly, he had also obtained a seat in the Senate, which he will not occupy to fulfill his new functions.
“I will play the function with delivery, conviction, determination, and with the commitment that our Uruguay and all its people deserve. I will work tirelessly to strengthen democracy and contribute to the construction of an open and close parliament. I am sure I will not be alone, ”said Cosse in his note.
With this decision, the elected vice president reinforces her commitment to the Executive and with the strengthening of democracy in the country.
