Since this year, 26 new high school educational institutions in the Junín region will begin to receive the benefits of the National Community School Food Program Wasi Mikuna, from the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (MIDIS).
This service will provide 9,107 students nutritious and harmless foods during their school days. The selected institutions, located in the provinces of Chanchamayo, Chupaca, Concepción, Huancayo, Jauja, Satipo and Yauli, will benefit from the active participation of the parents, the School Food Committees (CAE) and the Educational Community. These groups are key in the preparation and supervision of the menus.
The head of the Territorial Unit of Junín, Miguel Murillo, stressed that, in addition to these 26 institutions, the program will continue to benefit 188,113 schoolchildren of 3,825 schools in the region. Throughout 2025, the objective is to expand coverage to reach 4.26 million students from all over the country.
