After the video that travels through social networks, in which two policemen physically attack a couple of motorcyclists in the Jardines del Hipódromo area, the Police Union (SIFPOM-U) released a statement, shared by its president Patricia Rodríguez on Twitter, which does not make explicit reference to the event of last Thursday, but that defends the police in general and rejects the accusation that the Law of Urgent Consideration (LUC) enables police aggression.

The text begins by clarifying that the LUC “does not allow the police to exceed the limits in the use of force.”
“The police officer who acts professionally must know where his limits are”, he continues and clarifies that “excessive violence is always repudiated”.
However, the union defends the “33,000 police officials”, in which there are “exceptions as in all areas”. “With and without the LUC”underlines.
Most police officers denounce “these practices”, such as video, “because of their dedication to service and dedication to others”. These “are the ones who save lives on a daily basis, take care of the weakest and face the criminal risking his life for society,” the statement said.
The 2nd Shift Flagrancia prosecutor, Patricia Rodríguez, took the case and summoned the police and those attacked to testify this Fridayas confirmed to The Observer.
