15 days have passed since Daneidy Barrera, better known as EPA Colombia, entered El Buen Pastor prison in Bogotá to serve his five -year prison sentencefor having vandalized a Transmilenio station.
From the penitentiary center, the influencer and businesswoman spoke with RCN news, sharing her experience and reflections on her past, in addition to her struggle to demonstrate her change.
He recalled the episode that led her to this situation and admitted that she acted without knowing the consequences. “I trusted my friends. In 2019 they told me: “We are going to protest” and since I had no job, I got carried away without understanding what I was doing. I did not have a good study or enough information to understand the impact of my actions, ”he confessed.
On her legal process, Barrera regretted having had a better defense and assured that she was cheated. “My lawyer deceived me, he told me that I would never be here and today I am a deprived of liberty more.”he said.

Although her defense has tried to be designated as a peace manager, the application did not prosper because it does not meet the requirements.
On the condemnation imposed, Epa Colombia considers that it has been unfair and disproportionate: “Here there should not be the crime of instigation for terrorist purposes because there was no terrorism. My case had to review it better before condemning me. The Daneidy of six years ago is not the same as today. I have changed, I surpassed and I think that had to take it into account, ”he argued.
One of the toughest blows for the influencer in his seclusion has been the separation of his daughter, whom he has not been able to see since he entered prison: “I have not seen her 15 days and I think it is the most difficult thing; Time does not recover, material things do, ”he confessed.

For Barrera, the reunion with his little girl would be the first thing he would do if he regained freedom: “It is a pain that cannot be described. Not being able to hug her, being present in her day to day, is what weighs me most about all this, ”he said.
He said that in the midst of pain he has found a way to contribute in prison. “I am in the phase of starting a treatment to discount my conviction. I want to be in the hairdressing areatraining or working, and demonstrate that errors can be transformed into opportunities for improvement, ”he explained.
Likewise, The influencer and businesswoman maintains the hope of recovering their freedom. “The country has supported me because it has seen my change. I know that God will return everything I have done well … We all deserve a second chance. I deserve it, ”he concluded.
