The United States government has sent more than 100 Venezuelan migrants to the naval base of Guantanamowhile some relatives put the first demands against Donald Trump and its administration for the conditions and the way in which they have been treated.
The US government has stressed that the sending of these migrants to the base in Cuban territory is an example of the president’s hard policy against irregular migration.
The same Secretary of National Security (DHS), Kristi Noem, has defined them as “the worst of the worst.”

About half of this group remains in a prison within the military base, according to the newspaper The New York Timeswhich published a list with the names of migrants.
Tattoos as suspicion
Families of at least four of the listed migrants assured the Spanish agency EFE that they had not been able to communicate with them in days, and the agency could not find a criminal record for three of them.
They all had tattoos and mentioned their relatives that migration agents were accusing them of being members of the Aragua train only for the designs they had on the skin.
The National Security Department (DHS) confirmed the sending of one of these four to Guantanamo, according to the Spanish Agency.
Demand against administration
Meanwhile, a group of organizations that represents relatives of three Venezuelan migrants sent to Guantanamo filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration in which they ask for access to the detainees.
They denounce that Venezuelans are incommunicado and need to guarantee access to information on detention conditions and due process for those affected.
The lawsuit, which includes the sister of one of the detainees, was filed by the US Union for Civil Liberties (ACLU, in English) and the Center for Constitutional Rights, among other groups, organizations reported Wednesday.
The authorities, meanwhile, claim that some of the detainees are members of the Transnational Train Organization of Aragua, but relatives of Venezuelans have denied it.
They were not arrested in the streets, they allege
These migrants were not arrested in the streets, but were already in a custody in a detention center in Texas, some for more than five months, contradicting the version of the government that indicates that they “took them” from the streets of the US .
According to civil rights lawyers, the Trump administration has not provided details respect for the duration of its imprisonment in Guantanamo, the legal framework that justifies their detention or the conditions in which they remain.

“Immigrant arrest in Guantanamo without access to lawyers or basic protections is a serious violation of their rights and an alarming abuse of government power,” Rebecca Lightsey, co -director of American Gateways, said in a statement.
The demand emphasizes that Guantanamo houses one of the most notorious prisons in the world, used when the US government has tried to operate in secret and without accountability.
The International Refugee Assistance Project (Irap) and the ACLU of the Columbia district also participate. The plaintiffs include legal assistance organizations Immigrant Advocacy Center, Raices, American Gateways and Americaons for Immigrant Justice.
