INDH sends letter to occupants of its headquarters: they ask them to leave the property before March 7

The National Institute of Human Rights (INDH) sent a letter to the occupants of its headquarters -located in Providencia-, requesting that they leave the property before March 7. This has been taken for about eight months by high school students and members of different organizations.

Specifically, the INDH address sent the letter to the Coordinating Assembly of Secondary Students (ACES). The document maintains that the abandonment must be verified before the next session of the Institute’s council, scheduled for Monday, March 7.

From the INDH, they pointed out that the letter “reminds that successive and unsuccessful attempts at dialogue were made in the past.”

Along with this, it points out that “the INDH is a public and autonomous body, whose mandate is to promote and protect the human rights of those who live in the country.”

Let us remember that the controller Jorge Bermudez A few weeks ago, he dispatched an opinion that gave the INDH 30 days to regain control of its headquarters.

Faced with the ruling, the council met on Monday, via Zoom, to evaluate the measures to be taken. However, no consensus was reached.
