He Minister of Economy and FinanceJosé Salardi, said a meeting with the representatives of the National Assembly of Regional Governments on Thursday (ANGR), in which they addressed the main challenges and opportunities for development in the country’s regions.
During the meeting, Salardi stressed that the objective of its portfolio is to accelerate economic growth both nationally and regional. “Our goal is to accelerate growth, and with that the public, private sector and the population will win. To do this, teamwork will be key and meet permanently, ”said the head of the MEF.
The meeting was attended by the president of the ANGR and regional governor of Ancash, Koki Noriega, as well as the governors of Huánuco, Antonio Pulgar; Del Callao, Ciro Castillo; of Tumbes, Segismundo Cruces; from Pasco, Juan Chombo; and from Cusco, Werner Salcedo.
On behalf of the Executive, Salardi transmitted the message of President Dina Boluarte on the government’s will to maintain a close coordination with the regional authorities to work together for the benefit of the country’s development.
The minister stated that future meetings with governors are carried out individually or with the participation of technical teams. These meetings would allow identifying the specific problems of each region and contributing to the unlocking of investment projects.
“Definitely, the country urgently needs a joint, harmonious work, always with an eye on closing the gaps, improving the quality of life of the population and advancing again towards sustained growth,” said Salardi.
For their part, the governors supported the minister’s initiative and highlighted the importance of strengthening dialogue and articulation between the central government and the regions. They also showed interest that the next meetings involve technical teams, in order to implement concrete solutions in favor of citizens.
