In November 2024, the Order Commission of the National Action Party (PAN) officially expelled former Governor Yunes Linares and Senator Yunes Márquez.
The same bread was the one who let the father be substitute for the son in the Senate. That allowed both to be an important factor in the approval of the judicial reform.
On September 24, after he delivered his vote to pass the judicial reform, Morena included Yunes son in the Senate Justice Commission.
The opposition still reproaches the Yunes having broken the block to stop the election of ministers, magistrates and judges.
The Yunes were critical for years of the movement headed by Andrés Manuel López Obrador. However, at the important time they decided to join.
Both Yunes have been questioned about whether they will join Morena, however, they continue to defend their militancy in the National Action Party.
The presidency of a commission is not the only benefit that Márquez has received. Still in 2024, a federal judge granted him a provisional suspension to stop the arrest warrant against him.
Yunes was investigated for lying to authority, presenting false documentation and committing procedural fraud.
