Santo Domingo.- Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre, said Thursday that the continuation of the border wall in Dajabón in the southern part of the border will begin in April.
During a tour in the area, Fernández Onofre said that the perimeter fence will be continued from the community of La Sal to Capotillo, which includes about 10 or 11 kilometers.
“We guarantee the farmers that just as the livestock of the viglia and this area to Manzanillo, those of the area of Don Miguel, among others, will also have the wall,” he said.
Last Monday in the weekly with the press, President Luis Abinader announced that the border wall in Dajabón will be extended between 12 or 14 kilometers to the southern zone, due to the positive results it has generated in security.
“What they want is to continue building the wall, because it has given results and the thefts of cattle, engines and crimes in general have been diminished,” said Abinader when answering the question of journalists during his weekly meeting with the press .
He added that the extension will cover areas close to Capotillo and Restoration.
