New cases of alleged intoxication were recorded in the city of Cumaná, Sucre state; Specifically in the Pedro Arnal and Battle of Santa Inés, where around 28 students and 2 workers presented symptoms such as dizziness, headache, itching, weakness and difficulty breathing.
The students of 1st, 4th and 5th year of Baccalaureate were transferred to the outpatients of Fe y Alegría and José Gregorio Hernández of the Sucrense capital.
In this context, civil protection officials (PC), firefighters, police bodies and staff of the Educational Quality Development Center, were presented in the institutions to initiate the corresponding investigations.
So far, the causes of what these symptoms could have caused in students and workers’ personnel are unknown.
Given the situation that has generated alert in the population, parents and representatives gathered this Thursday, February 13, on the outskirts of the Pedro Arnal Lyceum, to demand that the authorities be answered and explained what produced these symptoms in the minors
“It is alarming, as a representative I need to explain what is happening and what is the reason that is generating this situation,” said Daniel Ruíz, father of one of the affected students.
It should be noted that last Friday, January 30, at least 17 students of the Battle Liceo de Santa Inés, located in the Brazil sector, also presented symptoms of alleged intoxication.
