Today 'Huancayo Real' shopping center must present itse or will be closed

The Civil Defense Office of the Provincial Municipality of Huancayo granted a term of 24 hours to the “Huancayo Real” shopping center, located on Calle Real No. 261, to present the Technical Inspection certificate of safety in buildings (ITSE), mandatory requirement that has not met in more than ten years. This decision was made after an inspection that revealed the absence of the certificate, putting visitors and merchants at risk.

During the operation, Civil Defense personnel and coercive execution was about to close the establishment, but some owners requested an additional term. The citizen security manager, lawyer Noemí León Vivas, agreed to this application as long as the requirements within the established period are met.

“It is vital that security regulations are complied with to protect citizens. This shopping center has not regularized its itse for more than ten years ”, León Vivas highlighted. In addition, he announced that operations will intensify to guarantee citizen security.

ITSE includes reviews such as electrical installations, seismic resistance and fire prevention. The merchants initially tried to resist the inspection arguing ignorance about the deficiencies detected. If today does not comply with the requested, there could be a temporary closure.
