From March 16 to 24, Ibagué, known as the musical capital of Colombia, will be the epicenter of Andean culture with the celebration ofl 39 ° National Festival of Colombian Music, An event that promises to be a tribute to the sound wealth of the country.
The Musical Foundation of Colombia, organizer of the Festival, has a program where attendees will enjoy a musical tour that aIt will be emblematic genre such as the bamboo, the hall, the waltz, the sanjuanero, the carranga and the cumbia.

Doris Morera de Castro, president of the Musical Foundation of Colombia, highlighted the role of the festival in the preservation of Andean music, with an edition that rescues the air and sounds of Colombia.
“Reaching 39 editions is an achievement that reflects the commitment to keep our tradition alive. This year, almost 90% of the participating duets are new, which shows the generational relief and the validity of our music, “said Doris.

The festival will also include competitions of duets, composition, national meetings of children and university students, and special tributes. In this editionTribute will be paid to the teacher Fruko, the artist Nico Yembe and the Tolimense composer Luis Enrique Aragón Farcasrecognizing their contributions to Colombian music.
The first event will take place on February 21 at the Julio Mario Santo Domingo Theater, where the public can be infected with the music that characterizes the festival.
“Participating in this festival is an honor. It is a space that celebrates our roots and projects our music into the world, ”said Fruko.
The February 21 gala concert will mark the national launch of the festival, will feature the participation of the award -winning duets as princes and princesses of the song: Spring (Boyacá, 2005), woods (Caquetá, 2022), Duetorres (Bogotá, 2023 ) and Camino Real (Tolima, 2024).
This event will not only be an artistic show, but also a call to peace, with vocal and instrumental interpretations of works by great teachers such as Jorge Villamil, José A. Morales, Eduardo Bahamón Horta, Ancízar Castillón, Pedro J. Ramos and Jorge Velosa, Fundamental figures in the development of Colombian folklore.
