The Santa Cruz Prosecutor’s Office charged the crime of femicide and requested the imprisonment of Boris Ernesto Mercado Valdezpointed out as the author of the violent death of his partner Roseli Pairillo Yachimba on January 18 of this administration.
Reports from the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv), indicate that the man was fully identified as the author of the woman’s death whom he stabbed and then left in the Imperial lodging of Montero.
Felcv investigations established that the victim was a native of Chuquisaca.
She was found in one of the rooms of the Imperial lodging in Montero and was covered with a sheet. Those responsible for the accommodation suspected that something strange was happening in that room because of the smell they perceived. That’s when they decided to call the police.
Within the investigations, they discovered that the security cameras recorded when the couple entered the accommodation on Sunday, January 16. In his bedroom they consumed alcoholic beverages, but no more was heard from them.
He sought refuge in San Julián
After the violent event, agents of the Felcv They began the searches aimed at capturing the subject. In Santa Cruz de la Sierra they did not find him, but they managed to find out that he escaped and traveled to hide for the first few days in San Borja (Beni) where he remained hidden without being detected by the Police.
However, he later decided to return to Santa Cruz. He first arrived at a house and gained the trust of the humble owners from whom he asked for a room to rent for just a few days.
The property owners never thought they were hosting one of the most wanted femicides in the city.
The police – who were monitoring him – finally detected him and managed to capture him in the property he rented for days.
In his initial statement, Mercado Valdez confessed to being the author of Roseli’s femicide and argued that he did it because the woman stole a certain amount of money from his wallet.
After being arrested in Cotoca, the Felcv transferred the man to the municipality of Montero where the violent event took place.
The prosecutor assigned to the case, Gary Coronado, has already filed an indictment against the confessed author for the crime of femicide and requested preventive detention in jail. A judge will decide the legal status of Mercado Valdez.
