39% of industrialists are affected by illicit trade

In Peru, 39% of industrial entrepreneurs are affected by the Illicit tradethat is, one in 10, he revealed a study by the Institute of Economic and Social Studies (IEES) of the National Society of Industries (SNI).

Of that total, 29% are beaten by adulteration, 27% by undervaluation, 25% and smuggling and 24% for falsification. In addition, he said that the most affected businesses are related to food.

The list also appears the metalworking, textile and clothing, plastic and rubber products, and chemical substances and products.

Crimes by sectors

The SNI revealed that, in the food industry, the illicit modalities that most affect are adulteration, undervaluation, smuggling and falsification. Meanwhile, in metalworking, falsification, piracy, undervaluation and dumping stand out.

The textile and clothing companies were affected mostly under the undervaluation modalities (mentioned by 62%of those affected), smuggling (25%) and falsification (13%).

Regarding the industries of the rubber and plastic sector, the study of the SNI details that the undervaluation (mentioned in half of those affected), the falsification (25% of the entrepreneurs of the item mentioned) and the smuggling (8%) are the most recurring illicit trade modalities.

Likewise, 29% of pharmaceutical products and medical devices entrepreneurs identified adulteration as the illicit trade modality that harms them the most; And in the sector substances and chemicals, 72% of respondents appointed falsification as the main illicit that plays against its development.
