Interim director takes over ANP this Monday

The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) released on Tuesday (11) the schedule of the 5th cycle of the permanent offer of concession. 332 exploratory blocks of oil and natural gas are being offered. The 5th Cycle Public Session will be on June 17th.

In the permanent offer, exploratory blocks returned or in the process of return, as well as those not bought in auctions. These blocks are available to receive proposals continuously.

Registered oil companies may express interest at any time. The schedule to perform a cycle is prepared when one, or more than one, statement of sectors of interest, accompanied by warranty of supply is presented.

The permanent offer was implemented in 2019. Since then, five cycles were announced about the concession regime and two under the sharing regime.

In the first case, contracts signed with the company, or the winning consortium of the competition, provide for the payment of signature bonuses and royalties to the Union. Petroline becomes owners of all production and thus assume the risks of investment. Even if the volume of oil or natural gas found is below expectation, companies must bear the payments provided for in the contract.
