Senate’s new president David Alcolumbre promised collaboration with the government after meeting with Finance Ministers Fernando Haddad; of planning and budgeting, Simone Tebet; and institutional relations, Alexandre Padilha. The three ministers delivered on Tuesday (11) to alcohol the priorities of the economic team to 2025.
The list is the same presented last week to the new mayor, Hugo Motta. THE Relationship has 25 itemsof which 15 depend on the approval of the National Congress. Among the highlights are the reform of income tax, limitation to supersalaries in the public service, changes in the military’s social security and the regulation of Big Techs (Large technology companies).
“This is the spirit of collaboration that Parliament has about the government’s agenda. Parliament needs to be flanked to government agendas. Collaborating and contributing to improve and improve this agenda with the look of Parliament, ”said Alcolumbre, accompanied by the three ministers at the end of the meeting, at the official residence of the Senate President.
According to Alcolumbre, Parliament will help define priorities for the economic team and seek to improve government proposals. “We all debate, making weighting this or that subject so that we can forward this priority agenda of the government right now in the first half. I want to make a record of our willingness alongside the mayor, to unite the Brazilian legislature for a common country agenda, ”he added.
With the presence of Government leaders in Congress, Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), and Senate, Randolfe Rodrigues (PT-AP), the meeting also brought together party leaders, including opposition. The Senate President asked parliamentarians to abandon party differences to boost the country’s economic agenda.
“Let’s leave the divergences aside and, with this spirit, we are here to make a difference as Parliament on Brazil’s agenda, but mainly from Brazilians,” said Alcolumbre.
According to Minister Fernando Haddad, government proposals intend to contribute to the sustained growth of the economy. “If Brazil does not grow solidly and sustainably, everything is more difficult. I believe we will have a very productive year from the point of view of the legislature. Both houses are united in the purpose of helping Brazil and with very mature projects to further improve the business environment, ”said Haddad.
