The Congress of the Republic again looks at pension funds. This time the congressmen Américo Gonza (Peru Libre) and worthy street (Podemos Peru) have presented their respective proposals for new retreats from the funds of AFP Despite the negative consequences that several experts have already pointed out.
In this regard, the professor of Economics at the University of the Pacific, Noelia Bernal, questioned these new proposals for AFP retirement and indicated that the congressmen “are not advising them well” because of the total number of affiliates, the vast majority already withdrew all their money.
“The contributions are destined to be able to give us a pension when we need it most that it is when we are older adults or have some disease, it is like keeping bread for May. If we are going to use that money for any situation, we are distorting the objective for which we have A pension system.
On the profitability generated by the four AFP that make up the Private Pension System (SPP), the Researcher at the University of the Pacific Research Center (CIUP) explained that this is a variable that must be evaluated in a 30 -year horizon.
“Being a saving for old age, one has to evaluate this investment in a horizon of 20 or 30 years. Being looking at the month to month or annually will not be decisive for your long -term savings,” said the economist.
As is known, a few days ago Congressman Américo Gonza, of the Peru Libre Party, presented the eighth bill that points to the affiliates of the AFPs can withdraw up to 4 ITU of their individual capitalization accounts.
For its part, the congressman of Podemos Peru, worthy street, also presented her legislative initiative that would seek the disposition of up to the 95.5 % of the AFP accumulated fund.
