Miami, United States. – A group of 190 Venezuelan citizens deported from the United States arrived on Maiquetía on two flights from the Conviasa state airline. The repatriation was carried out as part of an agreement between the regime of Nicolás Maduro and the administration of Donald Trump.
The Minister of Interior and Justice of the Venezuelan regime, Diosdado Cabello, reported on the arrival of flights in an official broadcast from Simón Bolívar International Airport. “At 9:03 pm the first flight landed with Venezuelans and Venezuelan who come to their homeland,” The Chavista leader announcedwho added that minutes later a second aircraft with more deported arrived.
The operation was attended by assistance and security agencies. “There are all the organizations, the International Red Cross, the Venezuelan Red Cross (…). There are the media, the Firefighters, the Ministry of Penitentiary Affairs, ”explained the official.
For his part, Nicolás Maduro described the operation as “a favorable and positive step”, and stressed that “building respect, communication and understanding” with Washington. “The first plane of the Venezuelan flag airline has just landed, Conviasa, to bring in a safe, loving, appropriate, dignified way, to this first group of returnees to Venezuela,” affirmed.
The deportation process is part of a pact reached on January 31 between Maduro and Richard Grenelll, sent by Donald Trump. As part of this agreement, the Venezuelan regime released six US citizens who were imprisoned in the South American country.
Since his second term in January, Trump has reinforced his immigration policy and promised to execute one of the greatest deportation campaigns in the history of the United States, a measure that will affect millions of undocumented, including Venezuelans who have left their country due to the economic crisis and political repression.
The White House spread images of the deportees uploading to the aircraft escorted by agents of the Customs Immigration and Control Service (ICE). According to the AFP agencysome passengers had no laces in their shoes, a regular security measure in these operations.
The Venezuelan regime reported that among those deported there were alleged members of the criminal group Aragua trainorganization that has been declared terrorist by the Trump administration and that Chavismo has linked opposition sectors. However, the Venezuelan authorities did not present evidence in this regard and described these statements as part of a “false and malicious narrative” that, according to their version, seeks to stigmatize Venezuelan migrants.
On the diplomatic plane, Maduro tries to restore relations with Washington after years of sanctions and international isolation. His fraudulent re -election in 2024 was rejected by the United States and other democracies, which has hindered the recognition of his government.
