The actress and neuropsychologist Karina Picado Vargasby Costa Rica, will present a trilogy of actions in the VI edition of the Festival of the Latin American monologue (FML) that will take place, between February 27 and March 2, in the province of Cienfuegos.
“I will have the privilege,” he said to the Cuban News Agency– To carry out three different activities. The first one is the presentation of my most recent book, called In search of freedom“
It is an interactive multimedia volume, based on high technology, which contains very innovative resources such as pictorial works, transformed in augmented reality and in 2D and 3D animations, said the ethical creator.
“It also has dramatized poetry audios, and video recordings on stage, starring dramatic art students, participants with me in this Cienfuegos Festival,” he added.
According to Picado Vargas, the work will have a trilingual- Spanish, English and Portuguese edition and will integrate “original pieces of classical music from Costa Rica for the world and poems alluding to life and its cycles.”
It also aims to facilitate a creative reading process, based on author’s research, where the reader becomes a creative writer from the activities generating each poem, where the construction of literary figures and the expansion of vocabulary is stimulated , to create new poems, on the part of the now reader/writer, who shares his works within a community, on the web, explained the report of the ACN.
The text aims to contribute to the reinforcement of emotional learning and mental health, with the processes of activities based on neuropsychology, proposed throughout the book.

For its part, a participatory workshop, with the title From the metaphor to action: an emotional trip from neuroscience for poetry and actingwill be taught by the expert, in the Athenaeum Room of the Tomás Terry Theater.
“It is a workshop where participants based on neuropsychological and artistic principles can create a staging that will be included within the interactive book, skills that will be shown from the genre of poetry,” said the scientist, who will finally participate in the staging of dramatized poetry of its authorship.
Picado Vargas participated in the previous FML made in Cienfuegos in 2023, in which he presented the show Concave without convex?, A proposal designed from Transmedia narrative, where theater, cinema, radio, dance and song was included, expanded the note from the ACN.
The work of Karina Picado Vargas, also known as Ann Cleys, has had an impact on the Costa Rican community, on the female sector, because their actions present stories of women in different dimensions and the obstacles they face.
In Costa Rica, Picado Vargas directs specialized workshops that combine performance and neuroscience, teaching how the brain, emotions and behaviors works, and how to increase emotional intelligence through theatrical practices.
For the four days of the FML in Cienfuegos theatrical venues, works from Mexico, Uruguay and Costa Rica will be presented, as well as Cuban scenic groups.
