SALARDI A PRIVATE: "Today more than ever the country needs you"

The Minister of Economy and Finance (MEF), José Salardihe met with more than 20 representatives of guilds of the large, medium and small businesses to explain what the guidelines of their management will be.

“Today more than ever the country needs you, your real, effective and fast commitment to move forward with investments. Obviously the State also has to accompany them with actions such as the impulse to deregulate everything that prevents us from advancing day by day, ”said the official during the meeting.

In that sense, the official explained the importance of the private actively participating in the development of infrastructure through mechanisms such as tax works (OXI). He also reported that the development of executive tables will be more intense and coordinated directly from the Ministrial Office. Therefore, he pointed out that they will aim to increase the frequency of the meetings so that they are weekly or biweekly.

“I like things to persecute themselves until they are achieved, I am a fan of monitoring as a tool for efficient and effective management, so that the country is winning,” said the official.

Similarly, he explained that the special investment monitoring team of the MEF will have a rather active role with the private sector to continue unlocking the large investments.

This was highlighted by Nelson Muñoz, leader of the monitoring team of the Oxi de Proinversion mechanism, during an interview with the Mining Dialogues program of the Institute of Mining Engineers of Peru (IIMP).

The current Minister of Economy and Finance assumed the portfolio on January 31 of this year, replacing José Arista. Salardi was previously Executive Director of Proinversion, as well as the head of the production.

In his first speech as head of the MEF, he pointed out that for the country to continue growing, fiscal deficit is a great challenge for 2025. Subsequently, he also pointed out that he will propose a reform of the Public Private Association mechanism (APP).
