General PNP Aldo Ávila states that Aragua's train is "disarticulated"

In a megaoperative carried out in the districts of San Martín de Porres and Puente Piedra, the National Police, in collaboration with the Office of National Security Research and Customs of the United States (HSI for its acronym in English), He has captured 23 Venezuelan and Peruvian citizens linked to factions of the Aragua train. The action is part of the work directed against the remnants of this criminal organization in the country, according to RPP the General PNP Aldo Ávila Novoa, Head of the Directorate against Trafficking in Persons and Illicit Traffic of Migrants.

During the operation, detainees were investigated for alleged crimes of trafficking in persons in the modalities of sexual and labor exploitation. In addition, the authorities managed to rescue 120 alleged victims of exploitation – both Peruvians as Venezuelan -, among which are three minors, who have already been made available to the Special Protection Unit of the Ministry of Women. The other victims are being evaluated to integrate into the government’s social assistance program.

General Ávila Novoa emphasized that, at present, the Aragua train as a criminal organization in Peru is “disarticulated.” “All leaders have fallen (…) are serving their sentence in Challapalca”he said in RPP. However, he added that the Peruvian and foreign authorities continue to fight the remaining cells or factions, such as “antitren” or “the children of God”, which are mapped and are subject to joint operations in various areas of the country.
