Santo Domingo.- The confiscation of a related plane of the Venezuela government in the Dominican Republic by the US was ordered by a judge, said Dominican President Luis Abinader on Monday, amid criticism of the Nicolás Maduro regime and allies to the Chavista.
“They (the United States) did a process in justice and there was the mandate of a judge, that was the legal procedure,” Abinader replied at his press conference from Monday after being asked about this matter, that Maduro’s regime qualifies of “shameless robbery.”
On February 6, during the visit to the Dominican Republic of the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, the United States confiscated a 2000Ex Dassault Falcon La Isabela, in Santo Domingo, for alleged violations of the export and sanctions control laws of the North American country.

According to US research, the apparatus, acquired in 2017 by PDVSA in the US and exported to Venezuela, was “reviewed and maintained on multiple occasions using the United States pieces”, something that violates export and sanctions control laws of the United States.

“The use of parts made of USA To repair and maintain aircraft operated by entities sanctioned as PDVSA is intolerable, ”said Devin Debacker, head of the National Security Division of the Department of Justice, according to a statement.
For his part, federal prosecutor Hayden O’Byrne for the Southern District of Florida said that “the seizure of the Dassault Falcon 2000Ex plane is another example of the commitment of this office to enforce US export control laws against PDVSA , of Venezuelan property, and other sanctioned entities ”.
