It starts this Tuesday (11) and runs until Thursday (13), in Brasilia, the National Meeting of Mayors and Mayors. Will bring together municipal managers elected for mandate 2025-2028. Promoted by the federal government, the event aims to bring ministries and government agencies closer to municipalities to facilitate access to essential information, tools and resources aimed at new managers.
At the opening, the participation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and ministers is planned. Among the more than 170 simultaneous activities are information about guidelines and guidance on federal government programs and available resources; technical, administrative and financial information about the municipalities; Debates on facing climate issues and extreme events; Human Rights, Citizenship and Local Management; Regional Integration and Development Policies, Public Security; and energy transition.
The institutional relationship of municipalities with ministries and other government agencies, the federative pact and municipal management will also be addressed.
Transition process
“The federal government understands that this transition process is a crucial time for the continuity of public policies and for the strengthening of partnerships between the federal government and the municipalities. Thus, the federal government is now preparing for the launch of the third edition of the meeting of new mayors and mayors, which will bring together more than 20,000 people in Brasilia, ”said the Ministry of Planning and Budget (MPO).
The initiative is coordinated by the Secretariat of Institutional Relations of the Presidency of the Republic (SRI/PR) and corrected by the Brazilian Association of Municipalities (ABM) and has support from the National Confederation of Municipalities (CNM) and National Front of Mayors (FNP).
To participate in the meeting of new mayors and mayors, it is necessary to make prior registration in the SRI SITE. The activities will be distributed between the auditoriums and rooms of the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center. THE Full programming is available here.
